Welcome to the MyPFO web site
MyPFO was formed in 2004 to fill a need of individuals and small to medium sized businesses for competent,
comprehensive financial management services. Check back often as this site will be growing quickly and
will become a source of timely, valuable information geared toward helping you achieve your financial goals.
Background
Virtually all upper income individuals and families as well as small to medium sized businesses have a need for
a financial professional to help them with a wide range of financial activities. Some of these needs may include:
- Business management
- Tax compliance (i.e., completing tax returns)
- Tax planning
- Business startup
- Short and long-term financial planning
- Accounting system selection and setup
- Monthly cash management, invoicing, bill payment, etc.
It is common for the very wealthy to have a dedicated financial management function, often referred
to as a "Home Office" or "Family Office", which oversees the family's day-to-day financial matters as well as their
more complex financial needs such as tax and estate planning, etc. From the business perspective, large businesses
have a CFO and an entire accounting department to handle their financial activities.
Having a Family Office, a CFO or an accounting department are very expensive propositions. If your net worth is at least in the tens of millions
of dollars or your business generates more than 50 million dollars of annual revenue, you probably require a dedicated team of financial professionals, however,
how do you manage your finances if you're not on Fortune Magazine's 100 Richest People list or in the Fortune 1000?
